Privacy Policy
At TernaID, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines what data we collect, how it is used, and the measures we take to keep it secure.
1. What we collect
TernaID prioritizes privacy and security by design, collecting only essential identification data.
If you onboard using a digital wallet
- Full name
- Family name (surname)
- Date of birth
- Document number
- Document issue date
- Document expiration date
This information is collected directly from your device, with your explicit consent, and transmitted securely to TernaID for the purpose of identity verification.
If you are onboarded by a trusted partner
The same identity information may be received from third-party providers like banks or government agencies.
Public keys and device information
- A private key is generated on your device. It never leaves your device.
- The corresponding public key is transmitted to TernaID for registration.
- Anonymous technical metadata (app version, OS version) may be collected for support and diagnostics.
2. Camera access
TernaID uses your device's camera solely for scanning QR codes that enable secure verification and interactions.
No images or videos are stored or transmitted. QR code scanning is handled locally on your device.
3. How we use your data
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale.
- Create verified identity profiles
- Register and associate public keys with verified identities
- Enable secure identity presentation to third parties
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Improve app reliability through technical logs only
4. Third-party partners
When you use TernaID to identify yourself to a trusted partner, we transmit only the required cryptographic proof and identity data necessary for that verification. This process is end-to-end encrypted.
5. Children's privacy
TernaID is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly process data from children.
6. Data retention
- Private keys remain only on user devices
- Public keys are stored in secure infrastructure
- Identity data is retained only as long as necessary to maintain cryptographic bindings
7. Your rights
Users may request:

- Information about stored identity data
- Revocation of public keys or identity bindings
8. Security measures
Our implementation includes:
